The City of Melbourne is located on east central Florida's Space Coast. Melbourne is about 1-1/2 hours due east of Disney World and an hour's drive south of the Kennedy Space Center. Most of Melbourne is located on the Florida mainland, however a small portion is located on a barrier island. The Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean surround the barrier Island. The mainland and the barrier island are connected by a pair of four-lane, high-rise bridges -- the Melbourne Causeway and the Eau Gallie Causeway. Crane Creek Promenade is a popular manatee watching area near downtown Melbourne. Brevard Museum of Arts and Sciences is in downtown Eau Gallie.
